Cohort MBA, MIS Programs Make Magazine's Annual Business School List

RICHARDSON, Texas (April 4, 2006) – In its annual rankings of business school programs announced March 31, U.S. News and World Report lists The University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) School of Management’s fulltime Cohort MBA program 54th nationwide and 25th at public colleges and universities in the U.S.

Also, the school’s Management Information Systems program is 24th in the nation, tied with Harvard University, and 16th among such programs at public colleges and universities in the 2006 U.S. News rankings.

UTD School of Management Dean Dr. Hasan Pirkul said the 2006 U.S. News rankings are a good indication that the school is making progress toward its goal of delivering the highest quality education to its students.

“This has been a longtime goal of ours. It shows we are becoming one of the nation’s leading public business schools,” Pirkul said.

U.S. News bases its rankings on both a survey of business school deans and recruiters and statistical measures of quality including acceptance rates, students’ grade point averages and GMAT scores, as well as the percentage of students employed at graduation and their average starting salary. The publication surveys more than 1,200 programs and nearly 10,000 academicians and professionals for the rankings.
